Connection Instructions
Mac Computer Click on the apple icon, and then select System Preferences from the drop-down menu. From the “System Preferences” window, click on the Network icon. In the “Network” window, make sure. Echo Spot Alexa Amazon speaker, showing its IP address at the bottom of its -Connect To Network- page, highlighted. This screen gives both the IPv4 and IPv6 version of the Spot’s current IP address, as shown in the last picture. The iPv4 address we see in this demo is 192.168.0.47.

If you still have the original packaging there’s a label with it on the bottom of the box. If you look at the device in the app it’s listed in the About section. Go to the Alexa app and devices and find your dot. In the info about it - go to the bottom where it says “About” and click it. Once Mac Address is added select the Wi-Fi signal you want to connect to on the Alexa app. After you are connected to the Wi-Fi signal, wait for a couple for a minutes until Alexa echo dot is connected and you are ' online '. Once you are online, Alexa echo dot is ready for use.

- Download the Amazon Alexa app to your smartphone or computer and sign in with your Amazon account.
- Plug in the Echo using the included power adapter.
- Connect to the wireless network broadcasted by your echo.
- Broadcasting a network from your Echo is only allowed during setup. Broadcasting a network from your Echo after setup is a violation of the Computer Network Usage and Security Policy.
- Record the MAC address of the Echo, located at the bottom of the first screen in the Alexa app.
- On a device already connected to the internet, navigate to http://netreg.clemson.edu.
- Enter your Clemson credentials if prompted
- Click the 'Add Registration' link on the left
- Enter the MAC address from step 4 in the format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
- Give the device a description like 'Amazon Echo'
- Read the acceptable user policy and click the 'I Accept' button
- Select resmedianet from the list of wireless networks.
- Enter tigerpaw for the WPA2 Encryption Key when prompted by the Alex app.
- If presented with a screen asking to perform an action, click continue.
- Connect your phone to resmedianet to complete the setup process.
