The recently launched version of macOS has included a keyboard shortcut to get information about the network you are connected – right from the status bar.
All you need to do is to press and hold the (⌥) option key and then click on the Wifi icon on the status bar. The router IP address is mentioned besides the “Router” option.

#2. Find Router IP address on Mac from System Preferences
Step #1. Click on the Apple Logo on the top-right side of the display and then click on System Preferences.
Step #2. Under System Preferences, click on Network.
- If you are using ethernet, click on the Ethernet option in the left sidebar. The router IP address is displayed beside “Router” on the right side of the window
- If you are using WiFi, click on Wifi from the left sidebar option and then click on “Advanced” from the bottom-right corner of the window
Step #4. All you need to do now is to click on the TCP/IP tab available on the screen.
Your Router IP address will be displayed beside “Router” text.
That’s it. Now that you have the IP address of your router, you can make necessary changes to the configuration.
